Restaurants near Rosegrove Guest House

We provide excellent evening meals, which are certainly something special. Sue Walters prepares all meals using the finest ingredients, most of which are sourced locally, to produce traditional Scottish and English cuisine. Meals are served in the dining room overlooking RoseGrove's beautiful garden, where it is common to spot red squirrels, deer and a variety of birds (all of which are noted in our guest log book). Special diets are easily catered for with advance notice. Take a look at our SAMPLE MENU.

If you do wish to venture out to one of the local restaurants we can personally recommend the following selection.

Tigh na Sgiath

This stunning building is a former country house and shooting lodge with many original rfeatures retained. It is set in 2.5 acres of wooded grounds and is the perfect location for a gastronomic meal.We have been lucky enough to experiance the fantastic food for some special family birthdays. The whole experiance, starting with canapes in the lounge, then a candlelit meal in the dinning room overlooking thew gardens and cairngorm mountains is simply fantastic. They have a lovely selection of wines and regularly changing menu. We chose the Four Course Table'hote Menu, which uses local and organic produce. This was awarded a "Gold Plate2 dining award by Hotel Reviews Scotland.

Craggan Mill

We enjoyed a fantastic meal here. We started with the Pate Maison and Spey Valley Smokehouse Salmon. Then for our main the Highland Venison with red wine, bramble, redcurrant and chill sauce and the Lamb, served with a tower of garlic mash and rich red wine and mint gravy, all of which were delicious. All served with generous helpings of vegetables. As our family is on a Lactose/Dairy free diet we were very happy to be greeted by the Chef who was able to tailor most dishes to us as everything is freshly cooked to order. This included Soya ice cream, which we have never seen on a restaurant menu before.

Crofters

After our trip to the Black Isle Brewery, and on our way to The Falls Of Shin, we decided to stop off for a bite to eat along the way. We drove through a small village that is along the coast on the black isle called Rosemarkie and found Crofters restaurant that is on the coastal road so you can enjoy a great meal while being able to look out into the bay only 10 metres from the beach.
