“GREAT PLACE FOR A FAMILY BREAK”

5 Star Review on Trip Advisor: We all loved our stay at Rosegrove. Sue & Graham are excellent hosts and nothing was too much trouble. The kids enjoyed sleeping in the family room with double bed and bunks. The room has a sink and we had exclusive use of the bathroom across the hall. The Walters seem to have thought of everything – guests have access to tea & coffee, glasses, small fridge with milk and squash, binoculars, biscuits, fruit. There are toys and books for the children; the dolls house was a big hit. One evening we brought takeaway food back and they provided plates and cutlery. There was secure storage for our bikes. Breakfast in the conservatory was very good and watching the birds on the feeders was a lovely start to the day. The kids want to know when we are going back! Would highly recommend for families.

“A MOST ENJOYABLE STAY WITH GOOD FOOD”

4 Star Review on Trip Advisor: I have stayed here several times in the last three years. The owners have done marvels in making water features & feeders for the birds:siskins, chaffinches, blackbirds, spotted woodpeckers etc. which feed within a few feet of the breakfast tables. The owners have a good knowledge of the local wildlife &, if they do not know the best place to find what you wish to see, they will find out for you. Fruit is available for guests to help themselves & the landline telephone can be used on request, since mobiles don’t always work in the Highlands. The only problem is that at peak times they can be booked up!

“GREAT PLACE FOR FAMILIES WITH YOUNG CHILDREN”

3 Star Review on Trip Advisor: This is a modest B&B nearish to Aviemore and Grantown on Spey. The owners – particularly the woman – are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent.

It was reasonably cheap – by Scottish standards anyway – and our young children loved our room as it was absolutely full of books and toys. The dining room was too. The house was clean enough but – without being rude- the dated décor may not be to everyone’s taste. The only real downside is that there is a shared shower room, which seemed to be shared with quite a few others. That said, it was clean and I suppose it’s good for kids to see what all B&Bs were like in their parents’ day!

There is a lovely forest walk directly opposite the property.

“VERY WELCOMING”

5 Star Review on Trip Advisor: We stayed here for a night as part of a wee four day break away from the city. This really is an extremely welcoming place to stay – the couple running it really couldn’t have been more friendly and accommodating. Spotlessly clean, great breakfast, lots of very thoughtful little touches like little bowls of sweets / biscuits everywhere, endless free tea and coffee, and bird books and binoculars beside the breakfast tables (it’s quite popular with twitchers). We got a Chinese takeaway the night we were there and they very happily provided plates (warmed!) and cutlery etc. The only thing to be aware of is that this is a wee bit out of town – the majority will drive rather than walk into Grantown on Spey – but this wasn’t a concern for us. Highly recommended.

“LOVED IT AND WILL BE BACK”

5 Star Review on Trip Advisor: We arrived at this B&B after a thorough soaking we got while attempting to climb Ben Nevis with 2 small children. The owners were very warm and gracious. They let us use their dryer to dry our coats and shoes! Kids felt like they were home instantly. This is the first place where they had toys for children. Room was very comfortable – we stayed in the room with a double bed and bunk beds for kids. Very quiet and peaceful location. Guests have their own lounge to hang out where we also met other guests. Breakfast was excellent. Highly recommend this place. We will be back at this place next time we are in this area.

“FRIENDLY & COMFY”

4 Star Review on Trip Advisor: Just outside of Grantown-on-Spey this small b&b is very comfy and welcoming with great views. We were welcomed by one of the daughters as the owners were on holiday, she showed us to our room and gave us a few ideas of where to eat. Evening meals are available but they like to know the day before and we were only staying for one night. Breakfast was very filling and the conservatory overlooked the garden where there were plenty of bird feeders and birds to watch whilst having breakfast, we even saw a red squirrel.

LOVELY PLACE TO STAY

5 Star Review from Laterooms: Hi, stayed with my mother and my 9 year old son for an overnight stay visiting tourist locations in the local area… Arrived late and was given a warm reception by owners, very friendly and helpful.. Family Room of a double bed / bunk beds was perfect for our requirement, excellently clean and well equipped with tea/coffee etc also books/games for kids if staying for any length of time.. VERY immaculate toilet / shower room was situated across the corridor. Breakfast menu option was great, gave you time to decide what you wanted the next day, the food was yummy, the scrambled eggs were delicious (home range chickens perhaps ??) Plenty of breakfast choice (various cereals, toast, jam, cooked…) Amazing conservatory to sit in while having breakfast watching the birds and gutted we missed the red squirrel that the other guests saw earlier on !!… Lovely place, lovely people, Thank you, we would stay again if ever in same area :). Reviewed by: Louise S, From Arbroath, England, Who stayed in July 2013.

HOME FROM HOME

5 Star Review from Laterooms: We booked the night before travelling and were a little anxious about what we would get, Aviemore being packed to the gills because of the good weather. How pleased we are now that our regular haunts were full! We can’t recommend this place enough…great value for money, warm and comfortable, fantastic breakfast with loads of choice and extras, lots of thoughtful little touches everywhere i.e.: binoculars and bird guides on the windowsills, fresh milk and cordial in a fridge downstairs for guests to use, shampoo and toothpaste in case you’d forgotten..I could go on. Our hosts were very friendly and good fun…simply splendid! How a guesthouse should be… Reviewed by: Val Bates, From Edinburgh, Scotland, Who stayed in March 2013.

PERFECT FAMILY RUN RETREAT!

5 Star Review from Laterooms: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Rosegrove. The guesthouse is nicely situated to see lots of wildlife in the Cairngorms. Having breakfast in the conservatory looking out at the wildlife in the garden, made our stay extra special (take your camera down to breakfast). Lovely breakfast with the option of an evening meal, which I would highly recommend. Would definitely stay there again! Reviewed by: Helen George, From Hayes, England, Who stayed in July 2012.

AN OASIS IN THE HIGHLANDS

5 Star Review from Laterooms: After an 8 hour drive in the rain, Rosegrove GH was a welcome retreat. The owners were welcoming and friendly and very interested in our travels. There was an extensive library of local information which was extremely useful. The breakfast was superb! We are looking for an opportunity to return to this wonderful B&B. Reviewed by: michael phillips, From Victoria, Canada, Who stayed in June 2012.

GREAT LOCATION FOR CITY BREAK

4 Star Review from Laterooms: Spent a weekend with my missus and we both enjoyed the place. Great home atmosphere and kindness of the owners make this place feel like home away from home. No en-suite bathrooms, but we knew about it before deciding on staying here, so not an issue. Would definitely recommend to friends. Reviewed by: K Wiselka, From Edinburgh, England, Who stayed in May 2012.

EXCELLENT PEACEFUL STAY

5 Star Review from Laterooms: If you want to have breakfast with red squirrel, this is the place! We stayed for 3 nights, and just loved it. The B&B is 20-30mins drive away from Aviemore, and perfectly placed beside a wood for a tranquil stay, where birds are in abundance. You wake up with birds chattering and go to sleep with birds’ singing. The owners Susie and Graham are two very nice people, who are there to help you when you need it. All in all a peaceful rendezvous! Reviewed by: Rajdeep M, From Glasgow, Scotland, Who stayed in May 2012.
